This was a simple test using the skin material to create snow.
(which is in some terms, far superior to the standard CRN material)
You can adjust the reflection and scatter lengths to make the snow more powdery, icy or wet.
The snow here is tested on a 20 cm sphere and it looked better than using the overexposed shader ball.
The light glints are controlled by the top layer of the displacement. If you don't want it that way,
you can use a flakes material or a similar shader.
