My first attempt at a Carpaint "Shader" for Corona. Trying to make it as easy to use as possible while maintaining the layers and keeping everything procedural and lightweight. Use: Put the "Carpaint" (the layered material) onto your object). Control properties of the material with the provided "Control" Null object. Copy the files into your scene or vice versa, just make sure to keep the materials and the expresso control object together. Don't change things unless you know what to do. Known problems: -Objects in the viewport becoming invisible -fix: recalculate materials -Material sometimes not updating in IR -fix: Restart IR

08/01/2018I get an error message for a shader plugin that is missing. Can you perhaps help me?
Eduard Riegel
08/01/2018I haven't used any shader plugins for the construction of the material. It was all done with c4d's native shaders+corona renderer. This error message could be ignored in the most cases without a problem. Mostly stem from custom layouts were one or two plugins were added to the interface. But since it's a "shader plugin" missing, I'm getting curious. What does it say? Which Version of C4D and build of Corona are you using?

08/01/2018Ignore the message and just try it first and if there's no problem rendering, then resave the file and it shouldn't pop up anymore.

06/03/2018Is this material similar to the vray carpaint?
Eduard Riegel
06/03/2018Yes, it's similar but not the same. It has a base, flake and coating layer and it's easy to use and responsive in the IR preview. I've had a look at different renderers and since I'm not a programmer, I tried to replicate the common features of those with the Corona materials(&their limits) and the native C4D shaders. If you're more experienced you can customize the settings within or add additional layers as the whole thing relies upon a layer material.
